AnteUp is made by DELAI. This policy explains what the app collects, why, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. It covers the AnteUp app and the service behind it.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To identify your account and send sign-in and password-reset mail. |
| Password | Stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider. We never see it. |
| Apple account identifier | If you use Sign in with Apple. If you choose Apple's private relay we never receive your real address. |
Display name, age range, time zone, the hour your day starts, your daily reminder time, your default Ante length, and whether you have granted health access. Every one of these is optional except the time zone, which the app needs to know when your day ends.
Each Ante you place: the activity, the length, the app you staked, when it started, and whether it was won, folded or missed. From those we derive Last 1000, Ante Won, Minutes Earned and Decision Win %. We keep a record of these events and work the numbers out from it, rather than keeping a running total that could drift.
If you grant access, AnteUp reads four things from Apple Health, and only to settle an Ante you set for yourself:
The reading relevant to an Ante is stored on our server so the result can be verified and cannot be altered on the phone. AnteUp never writes anything to Apple Health. Your device may list write access among the app’s permissions; we do not use it.
When you choose which apps to shield, your device does not tell us which apps you picked. That selection stays on your phone and is never sent to us. What we do store is the brand you chose from our own list, so we can name it back to you on screen. If you pick an app that is not on our list, we store only the word “Other”.
For a Walk Ante the app may read motion data from your device to confirm the walk. This is processed on the device.
If you subscribe, our payments provider tells us that your subscription started, renewed, lapsed or was refunded, and which product it was. We never receive your card details. The app store handles the payment; we only learn the outcome.
Free accounts see at most one full-screen ad per completed Ante, shown after you tap Collect Reward. Ads are served by our advertising provider, which may use your device’s advertising identifier. If you decline tracking when asked, or never answer, we request non-personalised ads only.
We record that an ad was shown, tied to the Ante it followed. We do not record anything about the ad's content.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We use these processors:
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Our hosting provider | Everything listed above that is stored with us | To store your account and run the service |
| Your device’s platform provider | Your platform account identifier, and your purchase and health authorisations | Signing in with your device account, in-app purchases, and health access |
| Our subscription provider | Your account identifier and subscription status | To know whether your subscription is active |
| Our advertising provider | Device advertising identifier, subject to your tracking choice | To serve the single ad on free accounts. Never health data. |
| Our app-update provider | No personal data | To deliver app updates |
We will also disclose data if the law requires it, or to investigate fraud or abuse of the service.
Our records are held by our hosting provider, on systems shared with other DELAI products. AnteUp’s data is kept separate within it, and access is restricted to the account that owns it, so one account cannot read another’s. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (running the app you signed up for), consent (health data and tracking), and legitimate interests (security and fraud prevention).
AnteUp is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. The age range field is optional and self-reported. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Access to your data is restricted to the account that owns it, and that restriction is enforced by our systems rather than by the app alone. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app if the change is material.
